ABOUT DOROTEA DOLENEC

Dorotea Dolenec is an award-winning Croatian classical guitarist whose career is distinguished by exceptional early success and a growing presence on the European classical music scene.

With her expressive interpretation and artistic maturity, she has won multiple national and international competitions and been granted an early admission to the University of Music “Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden, Germany.

For her performances, Dorotea has received multiple special prizes, including the EGTA (European Guitar Teachers Association) Special Prize, recognising her as a promising young guitarist of her generation.

Dorotea performs regularly, both solo and in Duet, across Germany, with appearances at prestigious venues and cultural institutions such as Bellevue Palace, Berlin, on the occasion of awarding the Federal Cross of Merit,

or State Playhouse Dresden, sharing the stage with distinguished German actress Martina Gedeck.

She has also been featured in a variety of interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with opera singers, actors and orchestras. She continues to explore new forms of artistic expression through cross-genre and cross-media work.

Dorotea is a former fellow of the START Foundation, a three-year program supporting outstanding young talents with diverse cultural backgrounds. Through this initiative, she has received training in inclusion, democracy, and social responsibility, reflecting her broader interest in the social dimension of art and education.

In the year 2025, she was a holder of the scholarship Deutschlandstipendium.
